In a stunning display of partisan unity, the One, Big, Beautiful Bill has successfully passed through the House of Representatives, albeit with a notable absence of Democratic votes on critical issues like tax cuts, border security, and the safeguarding of taxpayer-funded benefits for vulnerable Americans.

Here’s a glimpse of the policies that garnered unanimous Democratic opposition:

  • The largest tax cut in history. Families could see an increase of $13,300 in their take-home pay, while workers may enjoy wage hikes up to $11,000, alongside significant reductions in their tax burdens. This includes no taxes on tips or overtime, cuts to taxes on Social Security benefits for seniors, an expanded child tax credit, and new deductions for American-made vehicles. Taxpayers earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will witness a 15% decrease in their tax liabilities next year.
  • Raising wages. The legislation promises wage increases for American workers of up to $11,600, meaning that a typical family with two children may experience a boost in take-home pay by as much as $13,300.
  • Strong border security. This initiative seeks to make President Trump’s stringent border policies permanent, representing the largest investment in border security to date—potentially facilitating one million deportations annually, the construction of thousands of miles of new barriers, and the addition of over 18,000 immigration officials alongside pay raises for ICE and Border Patrol personnel.
  • Protecting Medicaid for American citizens. This provision aims to terminate taxpayer-funded benefits for approximately 1.4 million undocumented immigrants who are perceived to be exploiting the system while mandating that able-bodied Americans work to qualify for benefits.
  • Pay raises for troops. The bill enhances special pay for military personnel, coupled with increased allowances for housing, healthcare, and family support.
  • Ending taxpayer-funded chemical castration and mutilation. It reverses the Biden administration’s mandate that Medicaid cover so-called “gender transition” procedures.
  • Modernizing air traffic control. This will empower President Trump to achieve what the Biden Administration failed to do, by overhauling the systems crucial to ensuring safe and efficient air travel.
  • Revolutionizing the nation’s defense. This funding supports President Trump’s Golden Dome missile defense initiative, replenishes America’s military arsenal, expands naval capabilities, and enhances military readiness to adapt to evolving global challenges.
  • Protecting family farmers. The bill seeks to shield two million family-owned farms from the burdensome death tax, which would otherwise jeopardize their exemptions, while providing over $10 billion in tax cuts to farmers.
  • Unleashing American energy dominance. This legislation promotes increased onshore and offshore oil and gas leases, stimulates job growth, lowers energy costs, and reduces reliance on foreign adversaries.
  • Reversing runaway spending. The bill achieves $1.6 trillion in mandatory savings—the highest in U.S. history—and the largest deficit reduction seen in nearly three decades.
