In a brazen act of burglary, a criminal smashed through a window of a Staten Island home and made off with a valuable painting worth half a million dollars. The incident took place on tree-lined Tottenville Place near Wards Point Avenue at around 9 a.m. on May 15, according to the authorities.

The stolen artwork, titled “City Gleaners,” was created by the renowned artist T.F. Chen. Chen is not only an artist but also an art historian, writer, and philosopher. He is the founder of the T. F. Chen Cultural Center in NYC and has showcased his work in over 100 solo exhibitions worldwide, as mentioned in his online biography.



The thief ripped off a $500,000 painting, titled “City Gleaners” by T.F. Chen, from a home in Tottenville, Staten Island, authorities said. NYPD

The owner of the stolen painting, a 68-year-old woman, was not present at the time of the break-in. The thief’s identity remains unknown, and the NYPD is seeking any information that could lead to their arrest. Anyone with details about the incident is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
