Doc Rivers has revealed that he maintains constant communication with Giannis Antetokounmpo, stating to TMZ Sports that the two converse “all the time” amidst rumors of the Milwaukee Bucks star’s potential interest in exploring other opportunities.
During a recent outing at Avra in Beverly Hills, Rivers was quizzed about his star player’s future with the Bucks. While he refrained from delving into specifics regarding Giannis’ status within the organization, he made it clear that their lines of communication remain open.
“Guys, I’m not doing all that,” he told the cameras. “I talk to him all the time. You can move on now, thank you.”
Recent reports have suggested that Giannis, aged 30, is considering his options, whether to stay loyal to the Bucks, who drafted him 15th overall in 2013, or to seek a new challenge elsewhere in the NBA.
Although Giannis is under contract until the 2026-27 season, a desire to leave could prompt a trade to avoid the Bucks losing him without compensation.
Giannis’ online activity, where he has shown admiration for players from other teams and cities, has added to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Rivers also commented on the Indiana Pacers’ remarkable comeback in the Eastern Conference Finals and shared his approach to motivating his team following tough losses, like the one the Knicks experienced recently.
