House Oversight Chairman Targets Biden Aides in Mental Health Inquiry
House Oversight Chairman James Comer has taken the spotlight by naming five aides from the Biden administration allegedly involved in concealing the President’s mental health decline and the controversies surrounding the use of autopen for signing documents.
Comer has formally requested testimony from former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor and four former aides involved in the unfolding Biden health saga.
Specifically, the individuals summoned for testimony include: Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Director of the Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden, Former Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to First Lady Jill Biden Anthony Bernal, Former Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, and Former Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations Ashley Williams.
“The cover-up of President Biden’s evident mental decline represents a significant scandal. The American public deserves clarity on when this decline began, its extent, and who was making pivotal decisions on his behalf. Executive actions signed via autopen, including sweeping pardons for the so-called ‘Biden Crime Family,’ must be scrutinized in light of President Biden’s diminishing capacity. Today, we are urging the President’s physician and former advisors to engage in transcribed interviews to help uncover the truth. In the previous Congress, the Biden administration obstructed these individuals from testifying before the Oversight Committee, furthering the efforts to conceal Biden’s health status. Any additional obstruction will be met with prompt and decisive measures. The American people demand transparency and accountability now,” Chairman Comer stated.
In a recent appearance on Fox News, Comer indicated that subpoenas would be forthcoming.
The Autopen Gatekeepers: Who’s Who?
In a discussion with journalist Mark Halperin on the “2WAY Tonight” podcast, DOJ Pardon Attorney Ed Martin shed light on Biden’s escalating autopen controversy. While he refrained from naming specific individuals, he mentioned that a senior Democratic whistleblower formerly served as a high-level advisor during Biden’s 2020 campaign.
The alleged “gatekeepers” who facilitated access to the autopen included Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain, senior White House Advisor Anita Dunn, and Biden attorney Bob Bauer. Additionally, Martin suggested that former Biden counsel Steve Ricchetti and Jill Biden were key figures within the White House dynamics.
Meanwhile, the Oversight Project has released an analysis focusing on Joe Biden’s pardons, which notably included family members, Dr. Tony Fauci, General Milley, members of the January 6 Committee, and Gerald Lundergan. Notably, Biden issued a blanket pardon for his son, Hunter Biden, after previously assuring not to intervene in the Justice Department’s ongoing investigations into tax and gun offenses.
On January 19, 2025, just a day before Donald Trump was scheduled to be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, Biden executed a series of pardons encompassing family members, Fauci, and others.
The Oversight Project discovered that all pardons issued on that date bore identical autopen signatures, raising eyebrows about the authenticity and integrity of the process. Furthermore, the Project compiled all documents featuring Biden’s signature—remarkably, all utilized the same autopen signature, with the sole exception being the announcement of his withdrawal from the 2024 election.
