In a delightful twist at the White House, the younger generation managed to sideline the press during a recent briefing, stepping up to pose some rather unconventional questions.

This amusing moment unfolded as part of the White House’s annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” on Tuesday. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt found herself fielding inquiries that were likely a departure from her usual fare of pressing political matters.

Rather than facing the relentless scrutiny about the latest policy shifts or the latest developments surrounding President Donald Trump, Leavitt was met with surprisingly straightforward questions from the children of journalists and White House staff.

One adult, speaking on behalf of a shy child reporter, asked, “What’s Donald Trump’s favorite ice cream?”

Leavitt responded, “I’ve seen the president indulge in ice cream sundaes, complete with chocolate sauce and various toppings.”

Another pivotal question, perhaps inspired by some cosmic musings: “If the president had a superpower, what would it be?”

“Wow, that’s an excellent question!” Leavitt replied. “If he had a superpower, I think it would be the ability to snap his fingers and instantly resolve all of our country’s issues, because he likes to get things done quickly.”

One inquiry even echoed the traditional press’s inquiries, as a young girl asked, “How many people has he fired?”

After a round of laughter, Leavitt took a breath before answering. “So far, we haven’t had anyone fired, except for one individual who chose to leave their role. But we have a fantastic team here, and everything is going well.”

However, the children’s foray into the world of journalism was only part of their day. They also had the opportunity to spend time with First Lady Melania Trump in the Kennedy Garden.

“It’s always a joy to witness the creativity and spirit of children, particularly here at the White House, where so many dedicated individuals contribute to the success of our nation every day,” she noted.

Activities with Melania included decorating wooden American flags, showcasing the blend of fun and patriotism that characterizes such events.
