In a recent appearance on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo advocated for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate alleged efforts to downplay President Biden’s deteriorating health. Yoo’s proposition aims to hold accountable those who may have conspired to mislead the public regarding the president’s wellbeing.

During the segment, Yoo informed substitute host Kayleigh McEnany that a special counsel would have the authority to compel witnesses to testify under oath, potentially revealing the truth about Biden’s health situation.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer has pinpointed five aides within the Biden administration implicated in what he describes as a cover-up concerning the president’s cognitive decline and the controversial use of an autopen for signing documents.

Comer is demanding testimonies from several individuals, including former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Director of the Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden, former senior advisor to First Lady Jill Biden Anthony Bernal, former Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, and former Oval Office Operations Deputy Director Ashley Williams.

Yoo emphasized that a special counsel should collaborate with a dedicated investigative committee to thoroughly examine allegations surrounding the cover-up of Biden’s health issues. He raised concerns that Biden not only may be experiencing cognitive decline but could also have been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer while in office.

In a critical exchange, McEnany asked Yoo to compare the proposed special congressional committee to previous investigations like the Watergate scandal or the January 6 Committee. “What would this accomplish beyond what Comer is already doing?” she inquired.

Yoo responded, “A special committee would get people under oath, making it much more difficult for them to lie or obscure the truth about President Biden’s health and whether they misused their power or violated federal laws while acting on his behalf. Such an investigation often benefits from the focused direction of a single individual, a special counsel, who operates like a prosecutor.”

Yoo recommended that Attorney General Pam Bondi appoint Robert Hur as the special counsel, noting Hur’s previous decision not to bring charges against Biden for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

In a pointed remark, Yoo stated, “This isn’t about settling scores; it’s about ensuring the integrity of the presidency moving forward.” He suggested that the Founding Fathers would not have envisioned such a concentration of power without accountability.

Professor John Yoo — who has called for a special congressional committee and special counsel into Biden’s mental decline — said:

“It’s not to settle scores… It’s to fix the presidency going forward.”
