David Hogg’s Endorsement: A Double-Edged Sword for Jasmine Crockett?
Is the Democratic National Committee’s vice chair, David Hogg, endorsing Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett as the “type of leader” the party needs a boon for either Hogg or Crockett? The answer, rather unsurprisingly, is yes.
Yes, indeed, this endorsement marks the end of the pretense surrounding Hogg’s fleeting foray into party leadership, a role he has embraced following his tenure as a somewhat melodramatic anti-gun activist. And yes, the fact that Crockett is the kind of politician he champions ought to cast a shadow over her political credibility.
The fallout is mutual; it’s hard to imagine a more fitting pair in the world of political misfits. As far as romance is concerned, they seem to be unattached to anyone else—perhaps a not-so-blind date is on the horizon.
But let’s start with the fundamentals: Hogg, whose position as vice chair of the DNC may be precarious due to a potential re-vote over alleged procedural irregularities—which, of course, have nothing to do with his audacious pledge to funnel $20 million into primaries against older, more moderate Democrats (insert sarcasm)—expressed his admiration for Crockett during an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” a program geared towards Black audiences, as reported by The Hill. (Crockett identifies as Black, while Hogg is white.)
“Jasmine is, frankly, the type of leader that we’re really looking to support,” he claimed, unabashedly praising her “authenticity” and her ability to disregard the opinions of elected Republicans.
On the contentious matter of his $20 million primary strategy, Hogg argued that the party actually endorses such initiatives but prefers to keep mum about it. “I’ve heard from many members of Congress who have thanked me for taking this initiative,” he asserted.
“Even some older members of Congress have expressed gratitude, although they hesitate to voice their support publicly for fear of ostracizing their colleagues,” he added.
To clarify, James Carville—an influential figure within the Democratic Party, despite his semi-retirement—has labeled Hogg a “contemptible little twerp” and denounced Hogg’s primary strategy as “the most insane thing” he has encountered recently.
During a podcast debate between Hogg and Carville, Hogg asked for Carville to recognize “the nuance,” to which Carville responded with sheer disdain: “There ain’t no nuance to it. It’s just flat-out wrong. … That’s money that could be used to beat Republicans, not to beat Democrats.”
“What is your plan to improve our abysmal approval rating?” Hogg countered.
“Win elections. Win elections,” Carville retorted emphatically.

James Carville does not back down while debating DNC Vice Chair David Hogg’s $20 million strategy to primary Democrats:
Tara Palmeri: “You’ve [James Carville] said that members of the DNC should sue him for doing this, since David is a member of the party leadership.”

And who is decidedly not going to help you win elections on a national scale? Rep. Jasmine Crockett! Her notable quotes from 2025 include:
Jasmine Crockett tells new graduates they know how to “use a chair” and to “put your boots on the ground.” Because that’s exactly the attitude she thinks young adults should go out into the world with, I guess. pic.twitter.com/ijLXwavhr2

NEW: Rep. Jasmine Crockett suggests the United States needs illegal immigrants because “we done picking cotton.”
Crockett made the argument that the U.S. needs immigrants for farming while speaking at Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut.

NEW: I just asked Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett if she had a message to Elon Musk.
What would she say to him? Here was her answer:

These quotes merely scratch the surface of her “best hits” from 2025: advocating physical confrontations against those who oppose one’s seat at the table, suggesting that the U.S. requires illegal immigrants as a labor source because “we done picking cotton,” asserting that national security issues wouldn’t have arisen if Trump’s team included more Black women, and telling Elon Musk to “f*** off.”
And this is only a glimpse of her antics from 2025. Let us not forget the infamous encounter between Crockett and Marjorie Taylor Greene during a House Oversight Committee hearing back in 2024—a time when it seemed her political career had hit rock bottom. Now, it appears she has traded the kiddie pool for the Mariana Trench, exploring just how low she can truly go.
So, this is the caliber of leadership that the DNC vice chair, who is eager to invest $20 million to replace House members from his own party through primary challenges, wishes to support.
If further evidence is needed to demonstrate that both Hogg and Crockett are straying from their duties to the Democratic Party, it would seem those seeking such proof might be among their ranks. May fate seal their political futures, for no two individuals could be more deserving of such a fate.
