The Trump administration is requesting federal agencies to terminate their remaining contracts with Harvard University, totaling around $100 million, as per a government official.

A memo from the U.S. General Services Administration, dated Tuesday, instructs agencies to provide a list of contracts they have ended with the university by June 6.

“Furthermore, we encourage your agency to explore other vendors for future services in place of Harvard,” the letter states, signed by Josh Gruenbaum, the commissioner of the GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service.

The government official, speaking on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to comment, verified the letter’s legitimacy, initially reported by the New York Times.

Harvard has not yet responded to NPR’s request for a statement.

This story is unfolding and will be updated as new information becomes available.
