Tom Homan Trolls AOC After Indictment of Rep. LaMonica McIver
In a dramatic turn of events, Border Czar Tom Homan decided to have a little fun at the expense of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) following the Justice Department’s indictment of Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver. The political landscape is surely buzzing.
It’s worth recalling that AOC previously issued a stern warning to federal law enforcement, proclaiming there would be “hell to pay” should they take action against any of the New Jersey Democrats who had participated in a protest at the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark. Apparently, she has a flair for the dramatic.
During a recent appearance on Fox News, Homan seized the moment to rib AOC. “Remember a couple of weeks ago when AOC said, ‘if you put a finger on Congress people from the Newark facility, there would be consequences?’ Well, guess what? We did it. I’m waiting on the consequences!” he quipped to host Laura Ingraham.

Federal Charges Against Rep. McIver
Last Monday, U.S. Attorney Alina Habba made headlines by announcing federal charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver for her alleged assaults on ICE agents. “Today my office has charged Congresswoman McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement,” Habba stated on Monday evening.
She emphasized, “No one is above the law — politicians or otherwise,” a statement that echoes across the political spectrum, raising questions about accountability.
Compelling evidence in the form of ICE bodycam footage shows McIver verbally berating and physically confronting federal agents at the Newark detention facility. The footage captures her in a heated moment, where she exclaimed, “I touch whoever I want, motherf*cker!”—a statement that does not exactly scream diplomacy.

McIver’s Court Appearance
Following her indictment, Rep. McIver appeared before a judge virtually from Washington, D.C., where she was released on her own recognizance, avoiding bail. However, the judge did impose restrictions, ordering her to surrender any firearms and prohibiting her from traveling outside the United States.
This incident not only highlights the tumultuous relationship between politicians and law enforcement but also raises questions about the boundaries of activism and accountability in a polarized political landscape. As the story develops, it will be interesting to see how the public and political figures respond to both the charges against McIver and Homan’s cheeky commentary.
