Robert Wright III, a promising guard who recently transferred from Baylor to BYU, is putting in the work to improve his game ahead of the upcoming season. Known for his speed and quickness, Wright is focused on refining his shooting touch to become a more efficient scorer on the court.

In a recent Instagram post, Wright shared a video of himself practicing with a caption that read, “Getting that finger back.” This statement reflects his dedication to improving his finishing skills and shooting accuracy, with the goal of contributing more consistently on the offensive end for BYU.

Despite a solid freshman campaign at Baylor where he averaged 11.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, Wright struggled with shooting efficiency, shooting only 41.4% from the field. Recognizing the need to elevate his game, Wright is focusing on honing his scoring abilities to make a bigger impact for his new team at BYU.

BYU’s head coach, Kevin Young, expressed excitement about Wright joining the Cougars for the upcoming season. Young praised Wright’s abilities as a dynamic guard and floor general, highlighting his potential to elevate the team’s performance. With the addition of Wright and the highly touted recruit A.J. Dybantsa, BYU is poised to make a strong push for a national championship in the upcoming season.

Dybantsa, projected to be a top pick in the 2026 NBA draft, adds another layer of talent to BYU’s roster and raises expectations for the team. With only one season to capitalize on the talents of Dybantsa and Wright, the Cougars are gearing up for a competitive run in the upcoming season.

As Wright continues to fine-tune his skills and adapt to his new team at BYU, fans can expect to see an improved and more impactful player on the court. With his relentless work ethic and dedication to improvement, Wright is poised to make a significant contribution to BYU’s quest for success in the upcoming season.
