Google Photos, the popular photo storage and editing app, has recently received a major update with new AI features previously exclusive to the Pixel 9 series. With over 1.5 billion users, Google Photos is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a fresh look and new tools to enhance the user experience.

One of the standout features of this update is the new editor, which combines intuitive AI-powered suggestions with editing tools in one convenient location. These AI suggestions allow users to apply multiple editing solutions simultaneously for quick and efficient edits. Additionally, users can now tap on specific areas of an image to receive localized edit suggestions, making it easier to enhance specific aspects of their photos.

Two AI features that were initially introduced in the Magic Editor for the Pixel 9 series, Auto Frame and Reimagine, are now making their way to the wider Android ecosystem. Auto Frame uses AI to automatically frame the subject in an image, even creating additional background if needed. On the other hand, Reimagine allows users to replace a section of a photo with almost anything using natural language requests. These features will be available on Android devices starting next month, with iOS support coming later this year.

In addition to these editing tools, Google Photos now offers the ability to generate QR codes for sharing albums. This feature is already rolling out and allows users to easily share their photo collections with friends and family. The update also includes tips on how to make the most of the app, such as revisiting locations through geolocation data, using natural language search to find specific photos, and enjoying monthly or annual recaps of memories.

Overall, the new Google Photos update brings a range of powerful AI features and tools to enhance the editing and sharing experience for users. Whether you’re an Android or iOS user, you can look forward to these exciting new additions in the coming months.
