The Innovation of the Year Award at VivaTech 2025

The Innovation of the Year Award at VivaTech 2025 celebrates the boldest and most visionary startups that are exhibiting at the event. This prestigious award is open to all participating companies and recognizes those that are pushing boundaries and redefining industries. Startups were evaluated based on criteria such as Innovation & Creativity, Market Disruption, and Scalability. Out of hundreds of applicants, only 30 made it to the short list.

The top five finalists will have the opportunity to pitch live at VivaTech on June 11, with the winner being announced at the VivaTech Global Awards Ceremony on June 12. The prize for the winner includes a pitch slot at the ceremony, a free Startup Corner at VivaTech 2026, and a coveted spot in the JS Startup Battlefield 200. This award not only recognizes great ideas but also acknowledges the teams that are turning bold visions into game-changing realities.

This year’s applicants have truly impressed the judges. From innovative concepts like turning glasses into self-driving guide dogs to developing photonic chips that could revolutionize computing, the shortlisted startups are showcasing groundbreaking ideas with real-world implications. Other standout innovations include microrobot swarms for space exploration, AI technology that can read minds to control devices, and bioelectronic implants that combat brain cancer.

These startups are at the forefront of advancements in science, design, and engineering, particularly in areas such as sustainability, human-machine interfaces, advanced diagnostics, and accessible healthcare. What sets them apart is their boldness in not just solving problems but in actively shaping the future. Choosing a winner from this top 30 will undoubtedly be a challenging task, as each startup has already demonstrated remarkable achievements.
