A Missing Teen Found Safe After Six Weeks
A 15-year-old girl named Alisa Petrov, who disappeared almost six weeks ago in Utah, has been found safe in Colorado, over 500 miles away from her home. The authorities confirmed her safe arrival at the Colorado Springs Police Department on Sunday evening, as reported by KUTV.
Alisa Petrov, from South Jordan, was reported missing on April 21, two days after her last message to a 41-year-old man with whom she had been engaging in explicit online conversations. The man was later identified as Samuel Teancum Mitchell, who was arrested and charged for his involvement in the case.
Petrov was found to be in good health upon her arrival at the police station, but the circumstances of how she got there and whether she was held against her will are still under investigation.
Charges and Arrests
Samuel Teancum Mitchell, along with two other men, William Taylor Glines and Matthew Nicholas Menard, were charged in connection to Petrov’s disappearance. Mitchell faces charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, while Glines and Menard are also facing serious charges related to their communication with Petrov before she went missing.
Messages of a sexual nature were found on Petrov’s iPad, which she had left behind in her bedroom. The investigation revealed disturbing details of the conversations between Petrov and the men involved.
Safe Return and Family Reward
Petrov’s family had previously offered a $20,000 reward for any information that could lead to her safe return. She was last seen on security video leaving a train platform in Provo before her disappearance.
