A recent survey has revealed a surprising shift in American sentiment, as a majority now feels the nation is on the right path, a development the White House has eagerly embraced and credited to President Donald Trump’s leadership.

According to Rasmussen Reports, which released its findings on Tuesday, 50 percent of American voters believe the United States is heading in the right direction—a milestone the organization deemed “Uncharted Territory” in a post shared on the social media platform X.

This optimistic outlook is particularly pronounced among political party lines, with 75 percent of Republicans, 31 percent of Democrats, and 45 percent of independents expressing approval of the country’s trajectory.

Interestingly, when broken down by gender, the data shows that 57 percent of men and 44 percent of women share the belief that the nation is making progress.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt linked these optimistic findings to Trump’s policies enacted over the past six months.

“Our country is clearly heading in the right direction under President Trump’s bold leadership,” she declared during a recent press briefing.

Leavitt emphasized that this is the first time in the history of Rasmussen polling that a majority of Americans believe the country is on the right track.

“This is hardly surprising, as the president is delivering on the promises he made to the American people,” she asserted.

In addition to this survey, she also shared positive economic indicators, which she attributed to the Trump administration.

“Despite the constant pessimism from the media, Americans are increasingly optimistic about the economy under this president,” Leavitt remarked to the gathered reporters.

“Consumer confidence saw a significant surge in May, marking the largest monthly increase in four years, far exceeding expectations,” she noted.

“As reported by the Consumer Confidence Index, this boost in confidence spans all age groups, income brackets, and political affiliations.”

In fact, the data aligns with a separate finding that shows 53 percent of likely American voters approve of Trump’s job performance, according to Rasmussen.

Conversely, 46 percent of respondents disapprove of the president’s performance. These figures are derived from a comprehensive survey involving 1,500 likely voters, with a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points.
