Liam Gallagher Faces Legal Battle Over Child Support for Autistic Daughter

Liam Gallagher, the former Oasis frontman, is embroiled in a legal battle with his ex-partner Liza Ghorbani over child support for their 12-year-old daughter Gemma, who has autism. Ghorbani is seeking a new agreement with Gallagher, who has paid over $1 million since a 2015 court order.

In 2021, Gallagher agreed to contribute $240,000 towards Gemma’s school and autism-related expenses upon learning of her condition. However, Ghorbani is now demanding approximately $670,000 annually from Gallagher to cover basic child support and expenses. Her proposal includes $420,000 in child support and an additional $250,000 payment.

Gallagher’s lawyer, Judy Poller, argued in court that the requested amount is excessive, suggesting that Ghorbani is seeking the money because Gallagher is embarking on a new musical venture. She highlighted Ghorbani’s extravagant spending requests, including a $30,000-a-month residence with a pool, a $100,000-a-year live-in nanny, and a $6,300 vacation budget.

Ghorbani’s lawyer, Amanda Creegan, countered by stating that Gemma’s needs are not being adequately met. She claimed that Gallagher, who is expected to earn $550 million from an upcoming tour with his band, has failed to fulfill his financial obligations towards Gemma. Creegan also accused Gallagher of lying about the amount of support he had been providing.

Despite the contentious legal battle, Judge Jeffrey Pearlman expressed optimism about reaching a settlement and scheduled a private hearing for June 13. Gallagher, appearing via video link, confirmed his availability for the hearing and expressed willingness to engage in the process.
