In a rather peculiar incident early Tuesday morning, a 23-year-old man from Texas found himself in legal hot water after he allegedly trespassed on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, a site under federal protection. The individual, identified as Anthony Reyes, scaled the wall surrounding the opulent property with the ambitious intention of “marrying” Trump’s 18-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump.
As fate would have it, President Trump was in Washington, D.C. at the moment of this unusual breach and has since been informed of the situation.
This marks the second time Reyes has been apprehended for similar trespassing antics at Mar-a-Lago.
According to NBC News, “Reyes was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail with a bond set at $50,000 and several stipulations, including a prohibition on contacting Trump or his family members, including Kai Trump.” He has entered a plea of not guilty.
The network further reported:
A Texas man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trespassing on President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, resort, as detailed in an arrest report obtained by NBC News.
Officers from the Palm Beach Police Department responded just after midnight and met Secret Service agents who had detained Reyes. He reportedly told authorities that he had scaled the wall to “spread the gospel” to Trump and to “marry Kai,” referring to the president’s granddaughter, the eldest child of Donald Trump Jr.
The Secret Service confirmed that Reyes was found on the premises and admitted to having jumped over the wall to gain access to the property. Authorities clarified that he had no permission to enter this secured location. Notably, Reyes had previously been arrested for trespassing at Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Eve of the prior year, according to the police report.
