In a notable adjustment to President Donald Trump’s weekend itinerary, the White House revealed that he will make an overnight visit to Camp David this Sunday. This gathering will include Vice President J.D. Vance, key cabinet members, and other administration officials, marking a shift in the administration’s approach to executive meetings.
A White House spokesperson sought to mitigate concerns surrounding this sudden alteration in plans, stating, “On Sunday, the President will depart Bedminster and spend the night at Camp David before returning to the White House on Monday. The White House has arranged what will evolve into a regular off-campus retreat for high-level discussions involving the President and Vice President regarding various pressing issues.”
CNN has reported that prominent figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are slated to attend this ‘retreat,’ emphasizing the meeting’s significance. Sources confirmed attendance from Vice President JD Vance as well, indicating a gathering of key decision-makers.
Trump is currently enjoying the weekend at his Bedminster golf course, having arrived on Friday evening to unwind before the meetings commence.
Later Saturday, he is still scheduled to make an appearance at UFC-316 Dvalishvili vs. O’Malley 2 at Newark’s Prudential Center, illustrating his penchant for blending leisure with leadership.
Originally, Trump’s public schedule indicated a departure from Bedminster at 5 p.m. EDT on Sunday, aiming for a 6:30 p.m. return to the White House. However, the revised schedule now shows an earlier exit at 3:45 p.m., with an expected arrival at Camp David at 5 p.m., suggesting a more proactive approach to his weekend agenda.
