A recent home invasion in Queens has left residents on edge, prompting City Council member Vickie Paladino to urge her constituents to arm themselves for self-defense. The terrifying incident involved robbers posing as Amazon drivers who tied up a family and stole thousands of dollars in cash.

Paladino, a Republican representing Whitestone where the break-in occurred, offered assistance to residents in obtaining gun permits to exercise their Second Amendment rights. She emphasized the importance of self-protection in the wake of such criminal activities.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD showed the suspects, wearing baseball caps and carrying an Amazon box, walking on the residential street where the invasion took place. The masked thieves forcibly entered the home, bound the family, including three young children, and fled with cash and jewelry.

While the NYPD assured that the incident was targeted and not a threat to the community, Paladino condemned the violence and reaffirmed the need for safety in Whitestone. She highlighted that violence has no place in their district.

Neighbors in the area shared their own experiences of home invasions, indicating a concerning trend. One resident recalled a robbery at their home six months prior, while another mentioned a similar incident at their residence. The prevalent issue of break-ins has prompted some residents to take measures to protect themselves and their properties.

The 109th precinct, encompassing Whitestone, has reported a significant number of robberies in 2025, with the suspects in the recent heist still at large. Paladino emphasized the importance of community safety and vowed to address the threat of violence in their neighborhoods.

In light of these events, it is crucial for residents to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to safeguard their homes and families. Paladino’s call to arms serves as a reminder of the right to self-defense and the need to prioritize safety in the face of rising criminal activities.
