Law Prof Jonathan Turley on Media Silence Over Russiagate: 'If They Cover This Story, They Are Confessing Their Role' (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Screencap from YouTube video.

This week, Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, made an appearance on Sean Hannity’s show, where he delved into the latest developments regarding the alleged Deep State conspiracy against former President Trump.

While Turley covered several angles, his most compelling point revolved around the media’s apparent reluctance to engage with the unfolding narrative. His assertion is that the liberal media’s silence is largely due to the uncomfortable truth it would have to confront: acknowledging their own complicity in the saga.

Here’s a transcript excerpt via Real Clear Politics:

JONATHAN TURLEY, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: There are many anxious faces in this city tonight. This is the significant disclosure that John Ratcliffe hinted at, and there’s more to come. The key takeaway, Sean, is that this confirms various suspicions while also shedding light on new information.

We were not entirely in the dark; back in July 2016, John Brennan informed Obama that Hillary Clinton was concocting a Russian collusion narrative to distract from her email controversy. He relayed this to the president, only to later override CIA analysts and incorporate the Steele dossier into the narrative. Additionally, the Clinton campaign misled the media about funding for the Steele dossier, disguising that financial backing as legal expenses through Mark Elias, the campaign’s general counsel at the time.

For this operation to succeed, it required an all-hands-on-deck approach involving the government, the campaign, and the media. This is why the media’s reaction today is telling; regardless of what evidence is presented—be it a dozen heads in a duffel bag—they remain unimpressed. For many in the media, covering this story would feel less like journalism and more like a confession. If they report on it, they would be admitting their involvement in what could be seen as the most significant political hit job in history.

Watch the video below:

Professor Turley’s insight is certainly compelling. During Trump’s initial term, the media eagerly reported any hint of alleged Russian collusion, no matter how far-fetched. Now, however, there seems to be a concerted effort to sweep the topic under the rug.
