By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation
On this Father’s Day, we take a moment to recognize the crucial role fathers play in shaping not only their families but also the very fabric of our nation. They are the unwavering pillars of strength, guiding lights, and guardians of safety whose love and dedication shape the next generation. My Administration stands in gratitude to every father whose fierce love and steadfast commitment inspire those around them.
Whether through birth, adoption, or the influence of father figures, the impact of fathers in America is profound. They cultivate resilience, integrity, and perseverance in their children, embodying these values through their actions. Rising early and working late, fathers make countless sacrifices, demonstrating unwavering commitment and love. Their influence is felt far beyond the home, leaving an indelible mark on society.
The role of a father extends beyond mere presence; it is about instilling virtue and imparting core American values. For many children, fathers are the first to teach the worth of hard work, the significance of patriotism, and the importance of living with strong convictions. These lessons echo through generations, shaping the character of our nation.
As your President, I am committed to advocating for fathers and families each day. This includes preserving the Child Tax Credit, enhancing school choice, and ensuring that parents maintain their fundamental rights to raise their children without unwarranted government interference. I stand firm with fathers in shielding our children from misleading ideologies and am dedicated to ensuring our neighborhoods are safe by supporting law enforcement, tackling violent crime, and securing our southern border. Together, we are fostering a nation where fathers can lead with confidence, protect their families, and pass down the enduring values that define America.
Today, we honor the essential contributions of fathers in nurturing families, guiding communities, and fortifying our country. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their leadership, selflessness, and inspiration.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, in accordance with a joint resolution of Congress approved April 24, 1972, as amended (36 U.S.C. 109), do hereby proclaim June 15, 2025, as Father’s Day. I urge all United States Government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on this day and invite State and local governments, as well as the people of the United States, to observe Father’s Day with appropriate ceremonies.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
DONALD J. TRUMP
