According to local news outlet Fox 29, police received tips from the public regarding a person seen concealing a firearm in the vicinity of North High Street, where a sizable demonstration was underway.

West Chester Borough officers quickly identified the suspect and conducted a pedestrian stop. Upon questioning, they discovered the unlicensed firearm during a subsequent search, leading to the man’s arrest.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with this incident.

The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the West Chester Borough Police Department at 610-696-2700.

In a related incident, a tragic shooting occurred during another “No Kings” protest in Salt Lake City, Utah. This event saw a protester fatally shot near the conclusion of a march from Pioneer Park to the Wallace F. Bennett Federal Building.

The victim was hospitalized but later succumbed to their injuries. In the aftermath, three individuals were detained, including a suspect who was found with an AR-15 rifle.

The Associated Press reports:

A man believed to be part of a peacekeeping effort at the Salt Lake City protest discharged his weapon at an individual wielding a rifle, inadvertently striking both the assailant and a bystander, who subsequently died from their injuries. The suspect, 24-year-old Arturo Gamboa, was charged with murder, while the bystander, identified as 39-year-old Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, passed away in the hospital.

Details surrounding the motive for Gamboa’s actions remain unclear, but authorities have indicated that his actions contributed to the dangerous environment that led to Ah Loo’s death. Notably, a man in a neon green vest reportedly fired three shots from a handgun at Gamboa, sustaining a minor injury while fatally wounding Ah Loo.
