Sen. Lindsey Graham Advocates for U.S. Involvement in Israel’s Conflict with Iran

Senator Lindsey Graham, seemingly buoyant at the thought of military engagement, reiterated his call for the United States to immerse itself fully in the conflict surrounding Israel and Iran during a recent appearance on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”

Host Margaret Brennan initiated the dialogue, highlighting Israeli Prime Minister’s urgent appeal for the Iranian populace to rise against their regime, which he accuses of threatening Israel’s existence. “Given the existential nature of this situation, could this be steering us towards the military involvement you suggest?” she queried.

In response, Graham expressed his enthusiasm for regime change, stating, “If you want this regime to persist, you’re effectively endorsing the oppression of the Iranian people and the continued threat to their neighbors. Who genuinely desires the largest state sponsor of terrorism to remain intact?”

However, he clarified, “This is about regime policy—not an official U.S. stance. As of now, that’s not the objective of our operations.”

Continuing his hawkish rhetoric, Graham warned that any attack on Americans in the Middle East by Iran would immediately trigger calls for regime change. “We’re not merely discussing negotiations; we’re confronting a non-negotiable issue,” he asserted, emphasizing that Iran cannot possess a nuclear program capable of producing weapons. “While we prefer diplomacy, there may ultimately be no alternative to military action.”

He recounted a conversation with former President Trump, urging him to assist Israel in achieving its objectives should diplomatic efforts falter. “I told him, if diplomacy falters—Mr. President, you’ve done well—help Israel finish what it started,” Graham remarked. “To effectively address Russia, improve relations with China, and deter international terrorism, we must decisively deal with Iran.”

Brennan aptly noted, “We will see if there’s any willingness to negotiate. Thus far, indications are sparse.”

Graham promptly countered, “That represents a significant blunder on Iran’s part. The lack of negotiations isn’t Trump’s doing; it’s the Ayatollah’s.”

Brennan interjected with a critical perspective, “You can’t simply bomb your way to concessions that were never on the table.”

To which Graham retorted, “I doubt they have any intention of making concessions.”

At this juncture, Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal added, “If Iran miscalculates now, it will face dire repercussions.”

Despite facing considerable pushback for his unabashed enthusiasm towards military interventions in the Middle East, Graham remains steadfast in his advocacy for deploying American troops.

Game on.

Pray for Israel.
