While increased cognitive tasks did not always result in higher levels of biophotons being captured by detectors, changes in UPE signals were observed when participants switched between tasks. Michael Gramlich, a biophysicist at Auburn University who was not involved in the study, acknowledges the potential impact of this research on measuring brain activity but emphasizes that there are still many uncertainties that need to be explored.
