The tragic death of Navy veteran Keino Campbell in a senseless shooting in the Bronx has left his mother, Suzette Thomas, heartbroken. Describing her son as her best friend, Thomas is struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Campbell, 27, was fatally shot three times in the chest during a road rage incident in the Eastchester section of the Bronx. According to police, he had confronted two motorists who had bumped into his car. Thomas, who last spoke to her son the night before the incident, is still in shock and disbelief.

Describing Campbell as incredibly generous, Thomas shared how he would often help out with bills and babysit his nieces and nephews. Despite the challenges they faced, Campbell always appreciated the sacrifices his mother made for him and his siblings.

After serving in the Navy, Campbell had plans to attend school in the fall to become an electrical engineer and eventually start his own business to support his family. His mother is devastated by the heartless act that took her son’s life, emphasizing that the attackers’ intentions were clear.

The alleged gunman, Michael Aracena, has been arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. Despite the arrest, the suspect who provided the loaded gun used in the shooting remains at large.

Thomas is determined to face the accused in court and seek justice for her son. Recounting the heartbreaking moment when she was informed of her son’s death, she expressed her pain and longing to hold him one last time.
