Tubi Adds YouTube Creators’ Content to Streaming Platform

Tubi, the popular free ad-supported streaming service, is expanding its content offerings by partnering with YouTube creators. The new Tubi for Creators program aims to bring more creator content to the platform, starting with deals with six YouTube creators to distribute over 500 episodes from their shows. This move is part of Tubi’s strategy to provide a diverse range of entertainment options for its viewers.

The creators involved in this initiative include Rhett & Link’s Mythical, Kinigra Deon, Dan and Riya, FunnyMike, Jubilee, and Watcher Entertainment. These partnerships will bring thousands of new videos to Tubi, with more creators expected to join in the coming weeks.

Tubi CEO Anjali Sud expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We’re listening to our viewers and recognize their desire for more stories that reflect culture and talent from the digital world. As the home for free, premium entertainment, Tubi is uniquely poised to bring the creator economy to Hollywood and expand the pathways for creators to succeed in long-form storytelling.”

Among the shows set to debut on Tubi are Dan and Riya’s comedy series “Beverly Valley High,” FunnyMike’s “Mr. Creepy Eyes,” and various shows from Jubilee and Watcher Entertainment. These additions will offer viewers a fresh and engaging content experience on the platform.

Tubi for Creators is led by Rich Bloom, GM of creator programs and executive VP of business development. Bloom’s expertise in working with creators will be instrumental in expanding Tubi’s reach and bringing more unique stories to the platform. Sud praised Bloom’s contribution, stating, “Rich has spent his career in video partnering and supporting creators, and I’m excited for him to accelerate our efforts to help more storytellers find their audience and bring more unique stories to our fans.”

In addition to the partnership with YouTube creators, Tubi for Creators encompasses other initiatives such as Stubios, a fan-fueled studio, a partnership with Kickstarter to bring independent films to the platform, and a collaboration with The Blacklist for screenplay submissions. These efforts aim to provide a platform for creators to showcase their work and connect with a wider audience.

Tubi recently announced that it has surpassed 100 million monthly active users, showcasing the platform’s growing popularity. With a vast collection of movies and TV episodes available for free with ads, Tubi continues to be a top choice for viewers seeking quality entertainment. Fox Corp.’s acquisition of Tubi in 2020 has further solidified its position in the streaming industry.
