The Tragic Death of Whitney Purvis’ Son Sparks Controversy
The tragic death of Whitney Purvis’ son has ignited a heated dispute between her and her ex-boyfriend, the child’s father. Whitney is now alleging that her son’s death could have been prevented, while her ex-boyfriend, Weston Gosa, is vehemently denying her claims.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Purvis accused Gosa of neglect and financial irresponsibility, claiming that their son, Weston Jr., did not receive proper medical care despite suffering from serious conditions like diabetes, Addison’s disease, and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
Whitney pointed out the lack of medical insurance for her son, contrasting it with Gosa’s recent purchases of multiple cars. She highlighted the absence of a Dexcom glucose monitor, which she believes could have alerted them to dangerous fluctuations in her son’s blood sugar and potentially saved his life.
She also criticized Gosa for allegedly planning to cremate their son due to financial constraints, despite having a life insurance policy in place. Purvis claimed that Gosa failed to provide medical insurance for their children as per their custody agreement.
In response, Gosa refuted Purvis’ allegations, stating that the state had canceled their son’s insurance due to his income level, prompting him to quit his job to focus on family responsibilities. He defended their efforts to pay for medical expenses out of pocket and disputed the effectiveness of the glucose monitor.
Gosa clarified that the life insurance policy was a longstanding family tradition and denied preventing Purvis from attending the funeral, citing logistical reasons for her exclusion from the service.
Despite the conflicting narratives, the tragic loss of Whitney Purvis’ son has brought to light issues of neglect, financial strain, and custody disputes, underscoring the complexities of co-parenting in challenging circumstances.
