U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has been discharged from a hospital in Washington, D.C., as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Noem was rushed to the hospital by ambulance on Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction.
Noem is now fully cleared and recovering after being alert and responsive the day before.
This medical incident occurred shortly after a tense moment during a press briefing in Los Angeles, where National Guard and Marine troops were activated in response to protests over ICE raids targeting undocumented immigrants.
U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) was detained after trying to ask Noem a question during her recovery. DHS later confirmed a meeting between Noem and Padilla for 15 minutes following the incident.
It has been a tumultuous month for Noem, but now she is on the path to recovery and healing.
