Keir Starmer’s Labour Party is implementing controversial policies in the UK.

In political discourse, when left-leaning factions seize the reins of power, a familiar pattern often emerges: a push for a plethora of social and economic policies that have, in many instances, been met with failure in other contexts. This phenomenon includes the contentious promotion of what critics label the ‘culture of death’, manifesting through issues like abortion and assisted suicide. The United Kingdom, unfortunately, is not immune to this trend.

In a significant and contentious move, the House of Commons recently voted to remove criminal penalties for women who seek abortions at any stage of pregnancy, effectively opening the door to late-term abortions.

The Telegraph reported:

“MPs voted with a majority of 242 to decriminalize seeking an abortion at any stage of gestation for any reason, meaning that women will no longer face investigation or arrest for such actions.”

While abortion in England and Wales has been a criminal offence, it has been permitted under specific circumstances up to 24 weeks. Beyond that, only limited exceptions apply. Women may also take prescribed medication at home if they are less than 10 weeks pregnant.

Suella Braverman MP (@SuellaBraverman) cautioned that in nations where abortion has been decriminalised, there has been a notable increase in failed late-term abortions resulting in severe physical harm.

This legislative change will amend the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, thus exempting women from prosecution for terminating their own pregnancies.

“Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi argued that the current abortion laws are ‘outdated’, emphasizing that this is a matter of justice rather than cruelty.”

She stated: ‘Let’s ensure that no desperate woman ever again faces a traumatic criminal investigation during the most difficult times of their lives.’

I voted no.
I am pro-choice, but I find it hard to believe that after just 46 minutes of backbench debate, with only 13 MPs speaking, Parliament voted to decriminalize abortions of healthy babies up to full-term.

This decision has ignited concerns regarding the potential for ‘sex-selective abortions’.
“Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, has indicated his support for changing the law. The amendment was presented as a free vote, allowing MPs to act according to their personal convictions.”

During the recent G7 summit in Canada, Starmer reiterated his stance, declaring that ‘women have the right to safe and legal abortion’. Yet, not all members of this government view the change positively. Shabana Mahmood, the Justice Secretary, has criticized the amendment as ‘extreme’.

“She expressed her concerns to constituents, arguing that extending abortions up to birth would be unnecessary and dangerous, highlighting the potential severe physical and mental consequences for women.”

Another dark day in our nation’s history. Parliament has voted to decriminalize abortion up to birth.
I don’t recall seeing state-sanctioned infanticide in Labour’s manifesto?
It’ll soon vote again for assisted suicide. The most immoral parliament in my lifetime.
