White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

During a press briefing on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reassured supporters of President Trump, emphasizing their faith in his “incredible instincts” and his historical commitment to a doctrine of peace through strength, as he navigates the escalating tensions in the Middle East and contemplates military action against Iran.

Leavitt conveyed a message from the President, noting that while diplomatic negotiations remain a possibility, he is poised to make a decisive judgment regarding U.S. involvement in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel “within the next two weeks.”

This situation unfolds amid a divided base among Trump supporters regarding military intervention, with the neoconservative establishment firmly advocating for U.S. involvement.

Prominently, Tucker Carlson has emerged as a vocal opponent of the potential conflict, drawing parallels to the Iraq War under George W. Bush, which was justified on dubious claims of weapons of mass destruction. Carlson has criticized Trump for allegedly straying from his America First principles by supporting Israel’s proactive strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. However, in a twist reminiscent of a political soap opera, Carlson later issued an apology to Trump, who graciously referred to him as a “nice guy.”

During the briefing, we posed a question to Leavitt regarding the apprehensions expressed by grassroots Trump supporters who were motivated by a desire to end military conflicts and are wary of further entanglement in foreign wars.

In her response, Leavitt underscored Trump’s long-standing position that Iran must not be permitted to develop nuclear weapons, touting his “peace through strength” foreign policy that purportedly fostered global stability during his first term.

Leavitt asserted that “Iran possesses all the necessary components to produce a nuclear weapon; all that remains is a decision from the Supreme Leader.” This statement highlights the precarious nature of diplomatic relations, akin to a game of chess where one wrong move could have global repercussions.

Conradson: RINO warmonger Lindsey Graham recently called on the U.S. to go all in finish the job. What’s your message to everyday Trump supporters, not the Tucker Carlsons or other big names, but everyday Trump supporters, grassroots, who voted for President Trump to stop the wars, rejected this in the primary, going into another war with voting against Nikki Haley, and they want to see non-U.S. involvement in this war? What’s your message?

Leavitt: Trust in President Trump. President Trump has incredible instincts, and he kept America and the world safe in his first term by implementing a peace through strength foreign policy agenda. Regarding Iran, it should come as no surprise that the President believes Iran absolutely cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. This has been a long-standing position of his for decades, not just as president or a candidate, but also as a private citizen. For instance, in 2011, he stated, “America’s primary goal with Iran must be to destroy its nuclear ambitions. We cannot allow this radical regime to acquire a nuclear weapon that they will either use or hand off to terrorists.” In 2015, he remarked, “The problem is that Iran poses an existential threat to Israel, our Middle Eastern allies, and the United States.” This consistent message underscores his opposition to the Iranian nuclear agreement spearheaded by President Obama. He has made considerable efforts toward achieving a diplomatic resolution but has warned that if Iran did not engage within the specified 60-day window, action would be taken, leading to Israel’s response on day 61. As I mentioned, the President will announce his decision within two weeks.
