After helping his coworkers at Burger King while still wearing his high school graduation stole and medals, Mykale Baker has decided on his next step – he will be attending Gwinnett Technical College in the fall to pursue a career in automotive technology, as reported by 11 Alive.

With aspirations of becoming an auto mechanic and eventually opening his own shop, the 18-year-old Mills Creek High School graduate is determined to achieve his goals.

Not far from where Baker’s act of kindness went viral, Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Ga., will be his starting point for this new chapter.

Spotted by a drive-through customer, Maria Mendoza, as he assisted at the Dacula Burger King, Baker’s selfless act garnered attention on TikTok, reaching over 4.5 million views.

Impacted by the overwhelming response to his story, Mendoza initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support Baker’s college fund. The fundraiser surpassed its goal, raising $231,600.

Despite initial plans for a gap year due to financial constraints, Baker’s decision to continue his education was influenced by his upbringing in a large family raised by a single mother.

Recognizing Baker’s selflessness, his sister Mycah shared, “He’s always done these things without a lot of people seeing it. It’s something that comes naturally to him.”

Both Baker and Mendoza’s daughter received $10,000 scholarships from the Burger King Foundation, fostering a bond between their families as they embark on their respective educational journeys.
