In a dramatic turn of events, Democrats are reportedly engaging in actions designed to provoke arrest by impeding the work of ICE agents. This strategy seems less about the issues at hand and more about garnering media attention, which they can then leverage for fundraising purposes.
Scott Jennings, a political commentator, succinctly critiqued this behavior during a recent CNN segment, likening it to an elaborate performance intended for the partyâs base.
RedState provides further insights:
Upon returning from Israel, Jennings appeared ready to dissect the antics of what he termed the âtheater kidsâ in the Democratic Party. When asked whether he thought their actions were emotionally charged and deliberately staged for public consumption, he responded affirmatively.
âI agree with some of that. I agree they are emotional. And the last part. They do want the public to see,â Jennings noted. He elaborated, stating, âWhat theyâre doing is clearly creating stunts. These are political stunts⊠This is sort of like entertainment for their base. Thereâs a lot of capital right now in the Democratic Party for getting arrested.â He humorously expressed that he wouldnât recognize certain politicians, like Padilla, even if offered a substantial sum to identify him.
Jennings also mentioned that if Padilla truly wished to engage with Governor Noem, he had ample opportunity to do so, as evidenced by a brief meeting she granted him post-incident.
Reflecting on the bizarre lengths to which Democrats are going to advocate for the undocumented population, Jennings found their actions âbaffling.â He concluded, âThe theater kids have taken over. They are desperate to create theater, and thatâs all it is.â

Once again, Jennings aptly captures the essence of the situation: the Democratic messaging apparatus appears to be in the hands of those who favor dramatic theatrics over substantive policy discussions.
