The Fêtes de la Musique, or World Music Day, celebrations in France took a dark turn on Saturday when nearly 150 concertgoers, many of them teenage girls, were stabbed with syringes in a bizarre attack. The victims were jabbed with syringes containing unknown substances, leading to several hospitalizations and a wave of fear across the country.

The first attack was reported in Metz, northeastern France, and quickly escalated to multiple incidents in different locations. Local and national law enforcement launched an investigation and managed to apprehend a dozen suspects in connection with the attacks. Security footage played a crucial role in tracking down one of the suspects, who was arrested and handed over to the authorities for further questioning.

The attacks occurred during a nationwide music festival that attracts millions of people each year. Despite warnings on social media about the syringe attacks, crowds gathered in various cities to enjoy live music performances. The festival, held on the summer solstice, features both professional and amateur musicians playing at different venues, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

In response to the attacks, firefighters and emergency services were quick to respond, providing medical assistance to the victims. The Interior Ministry reported that 145 individuals were stabbed with needles, with some experiencing adverse reactions. Several victims were taken to hospitals for toxicological tests to determine the contents of the syringes and assess their health.

Authorities arrested 12 suspects believed to be involved in the attacks, with investigations ongoing to identify any additional perpetrators. The motive behind the attacks remains unclear, and officials are working to ensure the safety and security of future events. The incident has raised concerns about public safety and highlighted the need for increased vigilance at large gatherings.

As the investigation continues, the French government is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. The shocking syringe attacks have cast a shadow over the Fêtes de la Musique celebrations, underscoring the importance of ensuring the safety of all attendees at public events.
