A disturbing incident took place at the 14th Street-Sixth Avenue station in Manhattan when a serial city sicko, identified as Dexter Betancourt, targeted a female straphanger. The 37-year-old man approached a 30-year-old woman and tried to speak to her. When she rejected his advances, he bent down and attempted to kiss her feet before exposing himself and fleeing on a northbound L train.
Surveillance footage captured Betancourt licking his lips inside the station, adding to the unsettling nature of the incident. He was later arrested and charged with indecent exposure. This was not his first offense, as sources revealed that Betancourt has a history of arrests for assault, strangulation, forcible touching, and resisting arrest, with many incidents involving females.
In a particularly violent incident in 2013, Betancourt assaulted a 27-year-old woman on an Upper East Side street, throwing her to the ground, choking her, and biting her face. When police intervened, he resisted arrest by attempting to hit and spit on them. Another incident involved him throwing a 25-year-old woman to the ground, groping her in the process.
Betancourt’s violent behavior is not limited to strangers, as he also attacked a female police officer in 2012 when she caught him smoking weed. He tried to punch her in the face and dragged her by the neck before tossing her to the ground. The extent of his violent actions and lack of remorse is deeply concerning.
It remains unclear how Betancourt was apprehended on Tuesday, but he is now awaiting arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court. The NYPD’s Special Victim’s Unit for transit, based in Brooklyn, is handling the case. This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety in public spaces.
