Harvey Guillén, Brenda Song to Announce This Year’s Emmy Nominations

Stars Harvey Guillén from “What We Do in the Shadows” and Brenda Song from “Running Point” have been chosen to reveal this year’s major Emmy nominations. The announcement is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET, and will be live-streamed from the Television Academy’s Wolf Theatre on emmys.com/nominations.

Television Academy chair Cris Abrego will also be present at the nominations announcement. Reflecting on the submissions received this year, Abrego stated, “This year’s submissions reflect the remarkable talent, innovation, and breadth that define our industry.” He expressed excitement about honoring the nominees and kicking off what promises to be an unforgettable Emmy celebration.

In 2025, the Television Academy received a total of 228 submissions across drama, comedy, and limited or anthology series. There are exactly 600 series in contention across the 15 program categories. The nominations-round voting took place between June 12th and June 23rd.

Harvey Guillén, known for his role as “Guillermo de la Cruz” on FX’s Emmy-nominated comedy “What We Do in the Shadows,” has received critical acclaim. He has earned multiple Critics Choice Award nominations for supporting actor and won two Imagen Awards. Guillén’s recent projects include the Warner Bros. sci-fi thriller “Companion,” Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Life of Chuck,” and Disney+’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.” He is set to executive produce and star in the upcoming comedy “Damned If You Do” and has completed filming for the movies “Spicy Will,” “(Saint) Peter,” and “That Friend.”

Brenda Song, recipient of Variety’s Virtuoso Award at the 2025 Bentonville Film Festival, is currently starring alongside Kate Hudson in the Netflix comedy “Running Point.” Her recent projects include the feature film “The Last Showgirl” and Amazon’s romantic comedy “Love Accidentally.” Song’s notable past credits include Hulu’s “Dollface” and Netflix’s “Secret Obsession,” as well as her roles in Disney series such as “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “The Suite Life on Deck.”

The 77th Emmy Awards will be hosted by Nate Bargatze and will be broadcast live on Sunday, September 14th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. The event will also be available for live streaming and on-demand viewing through select packages on Paramount+.
