Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Involved in Scandal with Reporter Olivia Nuzzi
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has found himself embroiled in a scandal with prominent political reporter Olivia Nuzzi. The controversy arose after allegations surfaced that the two engaged in sexting following Nuzzi’s coverage of the 2024 independent presidential candidate.
Nuzzi, who was placed on leave by New York magazine, issued a statement acknowledging that she had communicated with a former reporting subject, which eventually evolved into personal exchanges. She admitted to not disclosing their relationship promptly to her editors and clarified that their interactions never turned physical.
The New York Post reported, citing anonymous sources, that Nuzzi was allegedly involved in sexting with the married RFK Jr., even while she was engaged to someone else.
In November 2023, Nuzzi authored a published piece on RFK Jr., coinciding with the period when the intimate messages were exchanged between them.
It was revealed that Nuzzi flew to California to interview RFK Jr. at his Brentwood residence for the article. The duo also went hiking together in the Santa Monica Mountains during her visit.
A spokesperson for RFK Jr. stated to The Post that Kennedy had only met Nuzzi once for an interview that she had requested, which ultimately resulted in a negative portrayal of him.
Regarding New York magazine’s response to the situation, a spokesperson disclosed that Nuzzi was placed on leave for breaching the publication’s standards by engaging in a “personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign.”
