Details are surfacing about the musical acts at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding held at Madison Square Garden.
On Monday, July 13, during his ESPN talk show, Pat McAfee, a former NFL punter, disclosed that Avril Lavigne performed at the event. She was among other music legends like Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks who took the stage.
McAfee mentioned that Lavigne, 41, delighted the couple and their celebrity guests with her 2002 hit “Sk8r Boi.”
“I believe I was the first to mention Avril Lavigne performed ‘Sk8r Boi’,” he stated. “She was incredible.”
He further noted, “The musicians were amazing. They would call each other up, and they just performed their hearts out.”
McAfee, 39, admitted that he wasn’t familiar with every song at the July 3 wedding, including one by Swift’s friend Ice Spice. However, he remarked that the rapper brought great energy.
During his talk show on Monday, the ESPN analyst provided more insights about his wedding experience.
“It was the most incredible evening I’ve ever attended. I can’t wait to discuss it more throughout the day,” McAfee shared. “While there might be parts I agreed not to disclose, from what I’ve read, others are talking about it too. There were no phones, no notes, nothing written, just memories.”
McAfee also defended Swift and Kelce, both 36, against criticism regarding their extravagant wedding in New York City.
“For those critiquing the venue… sure, shutting down a vibrant city has its opinions. But the event itself was the most magnificent thing I have ever witnessed,” he commented.
“I don’t want to reveal too much, but it was the greatest night ever,” McAfee added. “My wife and I had an amazing time. Their love was evident.”
Other prominent guests included Brad Pitt, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba, and more.
A source told Us that “Travis was beaming, and Taylor seemed to be having the time of her life. She was continuously smiling and dancing. The energy was electric from beginning to end.”
