In a recent CNN panel discussion, Scott Jennings left fellow commentators momentarily speechless as he outlined what he deemed to be President Donald Trump’s most triumphant week in office.
“Indeed, this week has been remarkably beneficial for him,” Jennings began, referencing not only a pivotal Supreme Court ruling but also the administration’s legal victories. “Earlier this week, the Supreme Court allowed the deportation of illegal immigrants to third-party countries, marking a notable victory for Trump’s policies. It appears he’s enjoying a bit of a legal winning streak.”
“Many Republicans are echoing the sentiment, ‘We’re not tired of winning yet,’ and rightfully so.”
“Consider the stock market, which has reached unprecedented heights.”
“Moreover, the administration successfully brokered a ceasefire in a 12-day conflict.”
“There’s even been a peace agreement between Rwanda and the Congo.”
“And let’s not forget gas prices—they’re at a four-year low this summer.”
“It’s a series of wins, consecutively stacked. This latest ruling is particularly significant, as it addresses the actions of judges who have, in Jennings’ view, unfairly hindered the president’s ability to govern.”
“He won the election; they did not. We don’t have multiple presidents—just one. And now, he’s poised to govern without the obstruction that has previously hampered progress.”
“One could argue that these past couple of weeks have been the most successful of his entire presidency.”
