Substack Enhances Livestream Features for Creators

Substack, known primarily as a newsletter platform, has been steadily expanding its video tools for creators over the past year. In a recent announcement on Wednesday, Substack unveiled new features aimed at helping publishers grow and promote their livestreams.

The latest update allows creators to share clips of their live videos on Notes, with real-time performance notifications provided by Substack. This feature enables publishers to identify the most engaging clips that can be shared on other platforms like YouTube Shorts to reach a broader audience. By connecting their YouTube accounts, creators can have their top two clips automatically uploaded to their Shorts channels.

The new feature is currently accessible on the iOS app and will be rolled out on Android devices next week. Utilizing AI technology, Substack automatically generates short highlight clips from video recordings.

Furthermore, Substack now automatically generates promotional assets for users when scheduling a livestream, simplifying the process of sharing on Notes, YouTube, and other social channels. This feature saves publishers valuable time and effort.

Another notable addition is the ability to invite guests via email or SMS, catering to followers who may not have a Substack account.

This latest update follows Substack’s introduction of audio-only livestreams and a scrollable video feed. Live video capabilities were made available to all publishers earlier this year.
