Lux Vide, the renowned Italian production company known for hit series like “Medici” and “Devils,” is undergoing a significant change as CEO Luca Bernabei steps down from his position. Lux Vide, which was founded by Bernabei’s father Ettore Bernabei in 1992, was acquired by Fremantle three years ago. Fremantle has now completed its planned purchase of the remaining 30% stake in Lux Vide, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary.
The departure of Luca Bernabei comes as a surprise, with no specific reason provided for his exit. However, the company has announced a new management board, with Bernabei’s sister Matilde Bernabei taking on the role of Lux Vide president. Matilde, who co-founded Lux Vide with her father, has been instrumental in the company’s success over the years.
The new Lux Vide management board includes Valerio Fiorespino, interim COO and CEO of Fremantle Italy Group; Elena Bucaccio, head of drama at Lux Vide; Corrado Trionfera, head of production at Lux Vide; Manuela Monterossi, general counsel of Fremantle Italy Group; Valentina Monaca, CFO of Fremantle Italy Group; and Barbara Pavone, Lux Vide’s chief marketing and sales officer.
Matilde Bernabei expressed her excitement about the new management team, praising their experience and leadership. She highlighted the strong relationship between Lux Vide and Fremantle, emphasizing the support they have received from the company in producing international projects like “Hotel Costiera” and “Sandokan.”
“Since day one, Fremantle has fully supported the company, the team, and the projects,” Matilde Bernabei stated. “Series such as ‘Hotel Costiera’ and ‘Sandokan’ are proof of this: international productions that we could not have made without their involvement.”
