Snow’s scores for the two “X-Files” feature films (1998’s “Fight the Future” and 2008’s “I Want to Believe”) were both released on CD, and he also released an album of his “Millennium” music in 2008.

Snow received a BMI award for “The X-Files” theme in 1998, and his score for the series finale in 2002 was nominated for a Golden Reel award. He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy for his score for “Smallville” in 2002.

In a 2015 interview with the Archive of American Television, Snow said, “I like to put music where there isn’t expected to be music. It’s easy to put music where there’s a car chase or a love scene. If I can make the audience feel something, then I’ve done my job.”

Snow is survived by his wife, Glynn Daly Snow, and his daughter, Olivia, a photographer and filmmaker.

Jack Warden, known for his iconic role in “Crazy Like a Fox,” had a unique theme song composed by Mark Snow. Snow, who also scored popular series like “The Love Boat,” “Dynasty,” “Vega$,” “Cagney & Lacey,” and “Falcon Crest,” was a master at creating memorable music for television shows.

After his success with the “X-Files” theme in the 1990s, Snow went on to score various TV series, including “Smallville,” “Ghost Whisperer,” and “Blue Bloods.” He also worked on TV movies and miniseries such as “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble,” “Murder Ordained,” and “The Lost Capone.” Snow’s work spanned across different genres, showcasing his versatility as a composer.
