A shocking case has come to light where a three-month-old baby suffered nine fractures, including in her ribcage, ankle, and arm, as reported by the police. Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Wescott revealed that the baby was brought to the hospital in Hutt Valley on June 14 with a broken arm, prompting further examinations that uncovered multiple fractures throughout her body.
“The nature of these injuries is highly concerning as they do not appear to be accidental. We are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding these fractures and are determined to uncover the truth,” Wescott stated.
It was noted that some of the injuries occurred at different times, indicating a pattern of abuse rather than isolated incidents. Despite the severity of the situation, the baby’s condition was said to be improving. However, the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
