Hope you had a restful holiday weekend. Eight years ago, President Trump and Republicans failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act after John McCain’s famous thumbs-down. Last week, Trump and Republicans overhauled the country’s health care system with a bill that, in many ways, feels like a repeal of the ACA. We’ll jump right into that. Thoughts and tips are as welcome as ever. [email protected].

Republicans trade tax cuts for more uninsured

President Trump and Republicans’ tax law is one of the most significant pieces of health care legislation since the ACA. It centers on this very regressive tradeoff: Poor and middle-class workers will lose their health coverage, while affluent households will reap the largest benefits of tax cuts.

The new bill has sparked a significant debate among lawmakers and experts. While some argue that the tax cuts will stimulate the economy and create more jobs, others are concerned about the impact on healthcare access for lower-income individuals and families.

The overhaul of the health care system has raised questions about the future of the Affordable Care Act and how it will be affected by the new legislation. Many are calling for a comprehensive review of the bill to ensure that it adequately addresses the needs of all Americans.
