Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently opened up about the impact of a burglary at his Ohio home last year on his mental state off the football field. The incident occurred on December 9, shortly after the Bengals secured a crucial 27-20 road victory over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

In the second season of Netflix’s docuseries "Quarterback," Burrow shared his reaction to the burglary, stating, "Of-f***ing-course this happened to me right now." He described how the high of the win was quickly overshadowed by the intrusion into his personal space, emphasizing that it felt like a reflection of the challenging year he had experienced.

The burglary took place during a season where the Bengals had initially set their sights on a Super Bowl run but were struggling with a 5-8 record at the time. Burrow expressed discomfort with the public attention that followed the break-in, highlighting the vulnerability of having his private life exposed to the world.

Despite the unwanted spotlight, Burrow found solace in confiding in then-Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo about the aftermath of the incident. He lamented about the invasion of his privacy, with news vans stationed outside his home and the whole world now aware of his living situation.

Following the burglary, four individuals were arrested in connection with the crime, with authorities recovering stolen items like an old LSU shirt and a Bengals hat believed to have been taken from Burrow’s home. The suspects faced charges related to participating in criminal activities and were later implicated in a series of burglaries targeting other professional athletes like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

Throughout the offseason, Burrow’s rumored girlfriend, model Olivia Ponton, has been by his side, offering support during a challenging time. While the couple has not confirmed their relationship, they have been spotted together in various locations, including Miami in May.

Fans can delve deeper into Burrow’s journey and personal struggles in all seven episodes of "Quarterback" season two, now available for streaming on Netflix. The quarterback’s resilience in the face of adversity serves as a testament to his strength both on and off the field.
