During a recent episode of MSNBC’s “The Weekend” show, the panel couldn’t contain their laughter over former President Donald Trump’s latest debate swerve. Alicia Menendez had her fellow panelists in stitches as she compared Trump’s reluctance to participate in another debate with Kamala Harris to trying to wriggle out of a party invitation.
“So, I’m an introvert,” Menendez quipped. “I don’t want to be invited to your party, I don’t want to go to your party, and that sounds a lot like what I have to say when I am trying to find a way out. ‘I have to wash my hair. It’s complicated. I just don’t know. I got to get a babysitter.'” It’s clear that Trump “does not want to do this,” she added.
Panelist Eugene Daniels from Politico speculated that Trump may have been “working through things in real time” when he claimed it was “too late” for another debate, suggesting that the excuse may have come up in a conversation due to past debates occurring in mid-to-late October. However, Daniels noted that Trump’s campaign is aware of his poor performance in the previous debate against Harris, hinting that Trump may reconsider if the polls don’t go his way.
