Donald Trump is attempting a new strategy to appeal to women voters by suggesting that they are experiencing feelings of depression, financial struggle, anxiety, insecurity, and thoughts of abortion. He positions himself as their “protector,” promising to address these issues and bring about positive change.
During a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump expressed surprise at claims that women do not like him, stating, “I always thought women liked me. I never thought I had a problem, but the fake news keeps saying women don’t like me. I don’t believe it.”
He referenced an impassioned all-caps rant he shared on his Truth Social platform, emphasizing the urgent need for women to receive his protection.
“Because I am your protector,” Trump asserted. “I want to be your protector. As president, it is my duty to protect you. I hope the media does not misinterpret my intentions. As president, I am committed to being your protector.”
“You will no longer feel abandoned, isolated, or fearful. You will no longer be at risk. You will no longer experience anxiety due to the challenges facing our nation. I will ensure your safety and serve as your protector. Women will find happiness, health, confidence, and freedom. The issue of abortion will no longer weigh heavily on your minds.”
Despite Trump’s statements, many viewed his remarks as insincere and unsettling.
