M6+, the AVOD platform recently launched by French TV network M6, has announced a long-term partnership with Paramount’s FAST service Pluto TV. This collaboration will bring M6 content channels to Pluto TV, introduce a new Pluto TV-branded section on M6+, and establish an advertising agreement to enhance the free ad-supported streaming business in France.
Under this deal, M6+ users will gain access to 12 Pluto TV channels featuring nearly 3,000 hours of content from popular franchises like “Just Tattoo Of Us,” “Baywatch,” “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” “Blue Bloods,” “Olive et Tom,” and “MTV Classics.” Additionally, Pluto TV users will be able to enjoy 6 M6 channels with over 2,000 hours of content, including shows like “Zone Interdite,” “Turbo,” “Les reines du shopping,” and “Les Marseillais.”
From a commercial standpoint, M6 will serve as Pluto TV’s advertising partner, enabling them to sell the entire Pluto TV inventory in France as part of their advertising portfolio. Paramount Advertising in France will also collaborate with M6 to sell Pluto TV inventory in the market alongside the M6 advertising team.
Olivier Jollet, the executive vice president and international general manager at Pluto TV, expressed his excitement about this partnership, emphasizing the growth of the free ad-supported streaming industry globally. He highlighted M6’s strong presence, beloved content, large consumer base, and expertise in ad sales as key factors that make them an ideal partner for expanding Pluto TV’s FAST business.
In addition to the agreement with Pluto TV, M6+ has also secured partnerships with Konbini and Hayu (NBC Universal). Henri de Fontaines, a member of Groupe M6’s executive board overseeing strategy, transformation, and development, shared his optimism about the partnership’s potential to strengthen over time and enhance M6 Publicité’s position in the French market, providing advertisers with more attractive and complementary solutions.
Overall, this collaboration between M6+ and Pluto TV marks a significant step in the evolution of the free ad-supported streaming industry in France, offering consumers a diverse range of content and advertisers a compelling platform to reach their target audience.
