Netflix has recently unveiled an exciting 2026 Korean content slate, featuring a star-studded lineup of series, films, and unscripted titles. This announcement comes as the streaming giant celebrates its 10th anniversary of operations in Asia Pacific. The content slate is organized around five key emotional experiences: romance, depth and desire, edge-of-seat thrills, comedy, and genre-defying wonder.

One of the highlights of the slate is the romantic comedy series “Boyfriend on Demand,” starring Blackpink’s Jisoo as Seo Mi-rae, an exhausted webtoon producer who subscribes to a virtual dating simulation service. The series also features Seo In-guk as her colleague and rival producer. Directed by Kim Jung-sik, known for his work on “Work Later, Drink Now” and “No Gain No Love,” this series promises to be a delightful watch.

Gong Yoo and Song Hye-kyo reunite for “Tantara,” a period drama set in Korea’s entertainment industry during the 1960s and ’80s. The series, penned by Noh Hee-gyoung and directed by Lee Yoon-jung, chronicles the stories of those who risked everything for success in a tumultuous era.

Acclaimed filmmaker Lee Chang-dong makes his Netflix debut with “Possible Love” (working title), a film that follows two married couples leading different lives whose worlds collide. The stellar cast includes Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong.

The romance category continues to shine with series like “Can This Love Be Translated?” starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, as well as “No Tail to Tell” featuring Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon. Additional romantic series include “Our Sticky Love,” “Take Charge of My Heart,” and “Sold Out On You,” each promising a unique and heartwarming story.

In the thriller category, audiences can look forward to “The Art of Sarah” starring Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk, “Notes from the Last Row” featuring Choi Min-sik, and “Mousetrap” starring Ryu Jun-yeol and Sul Kyung-gu. These suspenseful titles are sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Action lovers can rejoice with the return of “Bloodhounds” Season 2 and the debut of “Road” (working title), a cross-border murder thriller starring Son Suk-ku and Eita Nagayama. Comedy enthusiasts will enjoy titles like “Husbands in Action,” “Mission: Cross 2,” and “Undercover Miss Hong,” each offering a blend of humor and excitement.

Unscripted offerings include the return of popular shows like “Culinary Class Wars” Season 3, “The Devil’s Plan” Season 3, and “Agents of Mystery” Season 2. Producer Nah Yung-suk brings fresh reality series like “Ready or Not: Texas” and “Take a Hike!” to the table, offering viewers a diverse range of content.

Genre-bending titles like “The Wonderfools,” “If Wishes Could Kill,” and “Dead-End Job” add a touch of intrigue and excitement to the slate. These unique series promise to push the boundaries of storytelling and entertain audiences in new and unexpected ways.

Overall, Netflix’s 2026 Korean content slate represents a diverse and exciting range of stories, genres, and emotions. With a focus on celebrating Asia Pacific’s vibrant creative community, the streaming platform continues to showcase the region’s incredible storytelling voices. As Netflix marks its 10th anniversary in the region, the future looks bright for APAC’s place on the global entertainment stage.
