Yoav Gross Productions, a well-known Israeli scripted television company responsible for hit shows like “The Good Cop” and “Red Skies,” is introducing a groundbreaking new platform dedicated to premium, short-form drama tailored for mobile-native audiences.
This innovative platform, the first of its kind in Israel, is inspired by the immense popularity of micro dramas in China and the evolving viewing habits of audiences worldwide. With up to 90% of Gen Z consuming short-form video content daily, and 75% of video content being watched on mobile devices in vertical format, the demand for short-form content is on the rise. Daily views on short-form platforms have surged by over 400%, indicating a significant shift in the way viewers engage with content.
The new platform will feature episodes running under 90 seconds, produced in English to cater to a global audience. Each episode will offer serialized storytelling, capturing the essence of traditional drama in a condensed format. Yoav Gross Productions has also developed a robust technological infrastructure to support the platform’s expansion into multiple markets.
Yoav Gross, the founder of Yoav Gross Productions, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating, “As a leading content company and production house, we see the world of short-form drama as our natural next step. By collaborating with key players in the Israeli high-tech ecosystem, we are confident that this venture will open up exciting opportunities for us.”
To lead this initiative, Gross has appointed Eyal Topper as the CEO. With a wealth of experience in monetization strategy from companies like McCann and Primis, Topper will work alongside a team of industry veterans from tech giants like Meta and Playtika. The monetization model for the platform will draw inspiration from the gaming industry, incorporating elements like coins, subscriptions, and rewarded ads to enhance user engagement.
In addition to their successful shows like “Red Skies” and “The Good Cop,” Yoav Gross Productions has a track record of producing acclaimed series such as “Hullraisers” for Channel 4, “Manayek” for HBO Max and Arte, “Nehama” for Canal+, and “Uri & Ella” for HBO Max. With their new short-form drama platform, the company is poised to revolutionize the way audiences consume content on mobile devices and beyond.
