Maybe, this could turn out to be a positive development based on the outcomes.
Recently, on social media, a Georgia congressman delivered a rendition of the song âRelease the Epstein Filesâ to the melody of Jason Isbell’s âDreamsicle.â
Introducing the clip, he humorously stated, âIâm Congressman Hank Johnson coming to give you some more ear candy, or perhaps an earache, but Iâm going to do my best off of this Jason Isbell tune, âDreamsicle.ââ
In the video below, Johnson can be seen performing the song on a guitar in his office. It’s evident that both the guitar and Johnson are out of tune in certain parts.
The lyrics of the parody song are as follows:
Epstein died by suicide
Believe that and you must be blind
Youâve been telling us youâd release the files
But where are they?
Weâve gone along with whatâs been told
Youâve had plenty of time
Youâre in control
But now you say you will withhold
The Epstein files
Dreamsicle on a summer night
in a folding lawn chair
Trumpâs howling at the moon
Release the Epstein files soon.
JS has reached out to Isbellâs team for their response to the parody but has not received an immediate reply.
While the typical reaction to such a video might be along the lines of âStick to your day job,â some of the most critical comments on social media seem to come from supporters of Donald Trump who likely want Johnson out of office due to his Democratic affiliation.
Johnsonâs song release follows a memo from the Justice Department and FBI stating that there is no evidence of Epstein maintaining a âclient list,â despite previous assertions from both departments urging for the files to be made public. Trump recently urged his supporters to refrain from discussing the disgraced financier in a lengthy rant on Truth Social, calling him âa guy who never dies.â
This isnât the first time Johnson has released a protest song from his office.
Last month, he shared a rendition called âHey Trump,â to the tune of Jimi Hendrixâs âHey Joe,â and acknowledged his recent start in playing the guitar, asking for some leniency from viewers.
