California Forever Unveils Plans for Solano Foundry Manufacturing Park
California Forever announced on Thursday plans to build a massive manufacturing park called Solano Foundry, the newest addition to its master-planned “utopian” city backed by a group of Silicon Valley billionaires.
Solano Foundry spans 2,100 acres and is set to accommodate 40 million square feet of advanced tech manufacturing space. CEO Jan Sramek revealed these details at the Reindustrialize conference in Detroit, emphasizing the park’s integration within a planned walkable city boasting over 175,000 homes.
In a tweet, Sramek highlighted the importance of strategic location for U.S. manufacturers, stating that building factories in remote areas is not conducive to attracting top talent. Solano Foundry aims to address this issue by offering expedited permitting, efficient transportation for finished goods, and a sustainable power supply sourced from renewable energy.
The strategic positioning of Solano Foundry, located approximately 40 miles northeast of San Francisco in Solano County, is intended to draw hardware, engineering, and artificial intelligence professionals from the nearby Silicon Valley region. By creating a hub for innovation and manufacturing excellence, California Forever seeks to revolutionize the industry landscape and establish a thriving ecosystem for technological advancement.
